One of IT Action’s current clients, a London based law institute, came to realise that their email system was too sensitive to downtime and data protection. IT action recommended a fully hosted and managed solution within IT Action’s Docklands datacentre.
This provided the client a solution was:
Dedicated server based within a Tier 3 datacentre. This provided full uninterrupted power supply backed with N+1 generators, full N+1 redundant air conditioning systems and full fire protection systems.
The hosting enviroment is manned 24/7 with full interior and exterior CCTV systems and biological based entry systems.
Internet supply to the email system is provided by IT Action’s three independant internet suppliers based over three independant telecomunication lines arranged in a fault tolerant manner. This allows for any two internet suppliers or telecomunication company failures to not interupt the service. IT Action is a Nominet member with it’s on internet AS number which allows IT Action to present the same IP address over any supplier.
Email system fully backed up to IT Action second datacentre based eight miles away to provide off site backups in the event of a catrostophic datacentre failure.
The system is fully monitored by IT Action twin sited monitoring systems on a 24 by 7 basis.
The migration from the previous office based system was completed transparently to the external and internal users of the system. |
